Erin's 3rd Birthday Party

It's been a busy day!  The house is finally quiet.  All three kiddos are asleep, Stephen has gone into work to switch out servers/upgrade servers... to do something?  (I don't really ask because it is all the same to me.  I just know he will be at work all night for the third Saturday in a row), I am here, finally able to sit down, relax and enjoy some time to myself.

Erin turned three years old today.  (Actually, she was born at 10:26 pm so she's not officially "three" yet!)  We had a princess party for our little princess.  She had been so excited all day about her party.  When she woke up this morning I told her "Happy birthday."  She joyfully replied, while holding three fingers high in the air, "I'm three!!!!"  She's been waiting a long time to be three.  Her happiness quickly faded when she discovered that her family hadn't arrived for her party yet!  I explained to her that would all be here tonight.

Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Belle all made an appearance on the cake.

Camryn was so funny this evening.  Stephen was holding her at the end of the counter right by the birthday cake.  She kept leaning in towards the cake with her mouth open wide as if she would like to take a bite of it herself.  Stephen would stand her back up and she'd try it again!  I really think she wanted to have some cake.  It seems that in the last few days she has realized that we are eating food and that she'd like to try some to!  I have assured her that in a few more weeks she can have some yummy rice cereal : )

The birthday girl as we sang Happy Birthday to her!

Erin received many wonderful presents this year-mostly princess stuff, especially Rapunzel.  I wish I had more pictures of her opening her presents, but I only got a few.  Camryn was fussy and I was trying to calm her down and photograph the present opening.

We gave Erin a big girl bicycle.  She's been riding her tricycle for a while now and has wanted a bike to ride like big brother Grant.  She was clapping her hands here as Stephen wheeled the bike in!

The bike has a seat on the back for her baby doll.  We told her that the seat was for her doll only, not Camryn.  She told me later that she was "angry that the seat was not for her baby"  (Camryn)

Grant stole the show by donning Erin's new Rapunzel wig.  I think he likes it as much as she does.  (He told me he didn't want his hair cut this week because her was growing it out like Rapunzel.   I convinced him to let me cut his hair anyway!)  If you think this is silly, you ought to see the wig on baby Camryn!  We tried it on her tonight, but didn't get a picture.

All in all, we had a great night!  We are so thankful for our little girl Erin.  I don't know how our children grow up so quickly, but each year seems to fly by!

Erin's Birthday Invite

Erin's having a princess themed birthday this year.  She couldn't pick just one princess!  These are the invitations I ordered from Urban Frontiers on etsy.com.  I think they turned out just right!

Who Does She Favor?

Posted by Picasa

The pictures on the left are Grant and Erin.  On the right are pictures of Camryn in similar poses.  People are continually telling us how Camryn looks just like Erin, but we see more of a similarity between Camryn and Grant.   All of these pictures were taken around the three month mark.   Erin was so much smaller than Grant and Camryn at this stage.

Ramdomness

We put Camryn in the Jumperoo last week.

She likes it!

The weather has been beautiful here.  We took advantage of the spring like temps and stayed outside most of the day Friday.  We even had a visit with our cousin Jenna.

Erin took her picnic lunch to the playground.

Someone is growing up too fast.  I keep telling her to stop.

She thinks I am funny!

Try, Try Again

We took another turn at capturing a great shot of Erin for her birthday invitation.  I am so glad we did!

Perfect!!!!

Our Valentine's Day

Grant had a Valentine's Day party at school yesterday.  We joined his class in the festivities.  They decorated cookies!  Then the kids showed us some of the things they do during circle time.  Erin was super excited to get to join the class.  Ms. Megan let her decorate a cookie and sit with the other kids during circle time.  Grant was proud to have his two little sisters at the party as well!

In the picture above the kids were dancing to a song called, "The Super Fun Song."  Grant always dances around the house singing this song, although he has always called it, "Super Bonzo!"  I didn't know he had the name of the song wrong until yesterday!  It was so cute to watch him in action with his friends.

We waited until Stephen came home from work to celebrate.  Chocolate candy for everyone!  Well, almost every one.  Camryn will get some next year.  She's just happy to be here for now!

How Do They Grow So Quickly?

Didn't she just look like this?

I know it was just yesterday!

How did my teeny tiny newborn....

....grow so fast?

I have been going through the pictures on my hard drive trying to find a good one of Erin to use for her birthday invitations.  I ran across the newborn shots above of Camryn.  I realized I never posted the pics!  The last picture of the girls was taken this week.

Erin is having a princess party this year!  I need to order her invitations, but I don't have a great picture of her yet.  We tried taking pictures on Wednesday and this was the best I got.  Now, she is asleep on the couch with a fever and sore throat.  I have a feeling she is not going to be up for pictures again for a few days.  Poor girl!  She insisted on wearing the crown, even though I can't get it to stay on her head!  (When we came inside she promptly stripped out of the princess dress to run around instead in her under ware and a cowboy hat!)

Happenings

Stephen celebrated his 32nd birthday this past Sunday.  I made him an Oreos n' Cream cake.  It is delicious!

It has been decided that Camryn was put here on this earth for the sole entertainment of Erin.
(I'm not sure how Camryn feels about this.)

Grant has been teaching the baby how to play Angry Birds.
I am sure she will be able to play the game better than I can in just a matter of time.

Did I mention he loves her?

Big brothers are the best!
(Brian and I were "Dougie Buddies" until I was about six and he was eleven.  Then, I was just the little sister who got on his nerves.  We became friends again when he went to college : )

Erin has been refusing to wear shirt lately.  I do dress her.  It's just one of those phases.
Camryn is happy in this picture, even though she looks like she might be protesting the situation.

I will leave you with this picture of her fat, little cheeks.  Don't you just want to kiss them?  She is packing on the pounds weighing in at 14 lbs this week!

Things I Have Found

Camryn is loved and played with so much by her big  brother and sister.  They think she is here just for their entertainment, I suppose.  I usually find various items tucked in her swing, or on her arm.  Silly bands and an assortment of baby rattles make great bracelets for baby.  I often find Erin's miniature princess or a train or two stuffed in the swing.

Erin tucked this picture in Camryn's arms while she slept the other day.  It's a picture of Erin hugging Camryn.

I hope they are always this close!

P is for Pajama Day

Grant had pajama day last week in honor of the letter P.  He loves going to school.  I am so glad we decided to send him this year!

His boo boo on his chin is healing nicely.  He covered it up last week with a couple of bandaids : ) I don't think we will have to worry about it scaring.    He will be as good as new in no time!
